When it comes to skincare, nothing is more important for most consumers than finding the right solutions to combat one’s own unique set of skin problems. This is echoed by skincare company Meitoto, whose philosophy is to provide customised and effective skincare solutions to maintain and enhance its customers’ beauty. Headed by Ms Yuan Yuan and Mr Chua Hiong Eng and supported by a team of about 20 staff, the company currently has two outlets at IMM Building and Toa Payoh Central, as well as a factory at Soon Lee Street.

A chemistry and cosmetology student, Ms Yuan possessed over 10 years of experience prior to starting Meitoto. She carefully researched and analysed how the local beauty industry targeted particular problem areas and perfected her self-formulated products to suit the tropical climate and to address her customers’ needs. Meitoto was set up in Singapore in 2007, with its strong focus on providing personalised skincare solutions to customers.

Since its inception, the Meitoto brand has been renowned for its emphasis on customisation and its commitment to using only natural plant-based material. Ms Yuan personally assesses her customers’ skin before recommending suitable products and treatments to them. Each product is carefully tailored to suit its customers’ varying needs, with effects ranging from cell regeneration to anti-ageing. In addition, the company is able to provide other beauty services with its range of state-of-the-art equipment. These services include eye treatment, epidermis detoxification, oxygen therapy, face shaping and permanent hair removal. Ultimately, Meitoto’s goal is to see that each customer is satisfied and able to enjoy the benefits of having healthy and beautiful skin.

A key part of Meitoto’s success lies in Ms Yuan’s emphasis on providing the best service to customers by making sure her staff are well-trained in both technical and soft skills. To ensure each aesthetician maintains a high level of proficiency in administering beauty treatments, the staff undergo both internal and external training programmes on a regular basis.

To meet the needs of Meitoto’s growing customer base, Ms Yuan plans to open a third outlet in Singapore later this year, as well as to expand further overseas. With a sister company located in Dongguan, China, it also plans to establish an additional branch in Shenzhen. Plans for establishing a franchise are also in the works, with interest coming from partners in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

The company’s reputation has grown over the years through word of mouth and referrals from satisfied customers. Under Ms Yuan’s leadership, the Meitoto brand is primed for even greater success in the years to come.
